Hey there my friend. I’ve actually struggled with finding a healthy balance between running my own business and making sure I’m taking care of me. With that said, I want to help you, the amazing entrepreneur that you are, to get a better understanding of what self-care actually is and how to incorporate self-care into your daily routine easily and quickly!
Now, I personally know that some of these tips below will take a mindset change, but it is absolutely vital to maintaining good health, building resilience, and will allow you to work to the best of your ability.
You may not be sitting in a traditional office or even workspace, but scheduling in some “me time” is important. Taking a lunch break and a few 10-15 minute breaks throughout the day isn’t just for those working a 9-5 job. Burn out and fatigue is real, it helps to build in some time on your daily calendar to take necessary breaks. Be sure you are disconnecting from social media and technology, while you feed your body a healthy lunch.
If you are finding that you are getting bogged down with “to-dos”, fix that by focusing your attention where it’s needed. Write down your Top 5 Priorities each day. When you’ve completed those top 5 priorities and there is still time left in your day to add more, do it. Be sure that you’re still leaving room in your day for “me time”!
Go outside and connect to nature instead. Add in a brisk 20-30 minute walk each day that will allow you to clear your mind and recharge. Weekly, change up where you’re working from! Grab your laptop and go work from a local coffee shop, local park, or have a co-work day with a fellow entrepreneur.
As you continue to focus on your well-being, listening to podcasts that are centered around personal, emotional, mental growth will give you additional ways that you can build wellness into your daily routine. I love “Clear Your Headspace” with Lewis Howes and Rich Roll.
Out friend over at Divine Grit is hosting a FREE Kundalini Sadhana that will help you boost your immune system, which is perfect for those worried about their health and well-being.
Self-care is vital to self-preservation, eliminating burn-out and looking after our well-being. Let’s remove the stigma attached to self-care in the wedding industry. Self-care is not you being selfish, it’s not self-indulgent. Nor is self-care only for those who aren’t strong. Self-care should not only be about getting a monthly massage (though I recommend those too!), it’s also not just for the weekends or for trends like #selfcaresaturday.
