(If you’re male identifying, know that men can also empower women!)
There are so many ways to support women who are your industry! We are dropping some ideas with you below.
Remember that by supporting the women in your industry, you’ll cultivate an environment that will lead to empowering women and growing your industry standards. Show up for women that support and lead your industry into progressive thinking.
Think of a woman you look up to and admire in your industry. She can be someone in you personal know or someone you wish to meet. Write a post describing the impact she has had on your life. Your thoughtful gesture is sure to be appreciated. Be sure to tag her in a social post, so she can see it.
Lunch, breakfast, dinner—it doesn’t matter. Just be sure to grab all your industry women friends and grab a bite to eat. Having the chance to spend some one-on-one time with the lovely ladies in your industry is a great way to reconnect and remind them how much they mean to you.
There are some excellent museums dedicated entirely to the accomplishments of women. If you don’t happen to live near one of these places, many venues set up special exhibits during National Women’s History Month.

Along with being an “elder millennial” wedding and lifestyle photographer, I’m also a family gal. I’m recently engaged to my best friend of 10 years, mama to a rad teenage daughter (who happens to photograph weddings with me), the owner of (2) cute little pups, and driver of a yellow Dodge Challenger. On non-wedding days, you’ll most likely find me in the gym by 7:30 am getting my cardio on and then hitting up my favorite local San Luis Obispo California hotspots with my fiance, daughter, and friends. Traveling adventures are my jam, there’s no place I won’t go with my camera in hand.
